Meet Esme. She's a right beauty, eh?
She is the newest addition the Haertel Home. This little lady caught our eyes a few years ago, in the garage below my sister's home.
At our first glance, we both fell completely and totally in awe of this beautiful lady. We agreed that if this wench ever came up for sale, we would definately like to be the one's who succeeded in purchasing her.
Of course, to us it was all a fantasy, a wild dream, because who would ever part with a darling like this EK Holden? Fortunately for us, the couple decided they would like to buy some more land, and having recently come into possession of a delightful and quite immaculate EH sedan, accepted the inevitable and put their EK up for Sale...JUST as Dick and Nina and I were heading up to QLD to meet and greet our adorable new neice. I mean, really. There you go. Dreams can come true.
Dick looked all puppy dog eyed at me, as I phrased the usual question to test his commitment to each and every old Holden he declared an interest in..."Would you sell Lola? (EH Holden he had restored)". He said Yes. I was...stunned, and delighted! *grin*
Few technical details later, and the lady was resting at my parents house, her needs being tenderly catered for by my Daddy, even though he thought we were silly for buying another old car...especially after we had driven up to QLD in a 2001 Commodore. Months of organising a Shed...which still is not built...and we decided was time to have the lady with us.
The day of arrival was a glorious sunny day, which showed of her still wonderful paint job, and made her chrome gleam.
